AccorHotels Brazil: check in with your face

Facial recognition has arrived in the hotel business. Business travellers can now check in at the Pullman Hotel in Sao Paulo (Brazil), by presenting themselves at the front office – with a smile on their face.

The facial recognition feature is a trial. Selected guests of the hotel's loyalty program will be the first users in the trial phase, ZDnet reports. Face recognition is offered at check in. Also, rooms doors open using face recognition technology. It is also applied when guests come to the information kiosk with a question.

According to AccorHotels, testing the new technology may help serve business travellers better, either by giving more control or by speeding up the check-in process at hotels.
