What are the ‘unwritten rules’ of air travel?
Air travel can be pleasant, even fun. As long we all abide by certain codes and unwritten rules, flying to your business destination will be a pleasurable experience. But what are these rules
BusinessInsider made a clear animation video that makes clear how we would all like our neighbour on the plane to behave.
- Respect the lavatory - don’t take too much time. Do not try to join the mile high club.
- Consider your odor - Close quarters make strong smells unpleasant. Do you really have to take your shoes off, be sure to wear fresh socks.
- Think about how you choose to sleep - invest in a neck pillow. Don’t use your neighbour’s shoulder.
- Middle seat gets the arm rest. It is a matter of common sense. The aisle seat has the comfort of being able to lean in the aisle a little. The window seat also offers perfect leaning conditions.
- Don’t make anyone have to talk to you. No matter how bored you are… leave the man of woman next to you alone if he or she does not seem to care for chatter.
- Don’t hog the overhead bin. Leave some room for other people’s carry-on bags.
- Recline carefully – if you are going to recline, check if the passenger behind has finished his meal. And recline slowly.
- Avoid becoming annoying, reeking of booze, getting up every 20 minutes. Relax!
