Wear the Airbus ‘helmet’ for improved in-flight experience
Future air travellers can use a helmet-like bowl that helps fight boredom or stress. Aircraft manufacturer Airbus Industries has filed a US patent for the invention. The release date for the first in-aircraft helmet is not yet known.
According to the patent application (US20140159444), the helmet is intended to offer sensorial isolation with regard to the external environment.
The helmet is intended to give nervous passengers a more quiet and comfortable in-flight experience. Also, the device offers a higher-quality perception of the in-flight entertainment on board, with better sound quality. The device is said to be fitted with a glass screen and can not only isolate sound, but also vision and smell.
The isolation inside the helmet allows the passenger to better profit from some of the distractions offered, for example listening to music, watching films, etc. If the passenger is sensitive to stress, the isolation allows to calm down and relax.
