UberCOPTER now in Sao Paolo
Traffic jams in Sao Paolo, Brazil, can be horrific. If you need to get to the other side of the city quickly, there is UberCOPTER. After successful tests at Cannes festival last year, Uber has now launched the helicopter service that is to be operational all year.
In partnership with European plane maker Airbus, Uber offers its clients a helicopter-hail facility. Users can hail a via the Uber app pay $17-80 for a ride between airports, to hotels or to conference centers. The service is operating from five helipads and four hotels.
The launch of the service came after operating UberCOPTER services successfully at the Cannes Film Festival and the Sundance Film Festival. In Cannes a ride between the airport and the festival started at $150. In Sao Paulo, a ride costs as little as $17.
