Tap-and-go payment on Taiwan’s airport metro

Business travelers visiting Taiwan’s capital of Taipei can now use contactless payment when traveling by metro. They can use contactless payment via bank cards to pay for their trip to and from the airport on Taipei’s MRT system. They can just hold their cards near the payment point or use their smart devices to pay instantly.

The tap-and-go service can be used by to holders of VISA, Mastercard, Union Pay and JCB cards and mobile devices with near field communication (NFC) functions such as Google Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

According to a report by TravelDailyMedia, the mayor of Taoyuan City said the tap-and-go system for the rapid transit (MRT) line will bring more convenience to both domestic and international travelers.
