Strong hotel growth in Eastern Europe - Georgia

Hotel development in Europe takes place at a very high pace. In all of Europe, construction companies are currently working on 894 hotels, totalling 142,704 rooms. Eastern Europe is in the lead with high growth numbers.

The STR Global Construction Pipeline Report lists the strongest growth regions, with Georgia as the undisputed number one in new hotel development. Georgia reported the largest expected room supply growth (+95.8 percent) with 2,019 new rooms currently under development.

Five other countries reported more than 30.0 percent expected room growth: Tajikistan (+50.5 percent with 285 rooms), Belarus (+48.9 percent with 2,073 rooms), Azerbaijan (+33.3 percent with 1,333 rooms), Macedonia (+33.3 percent with 562 rooms), and Kazakhstan (+31.2 percent with 2,038 rooms).
