Six Senses Maxwell Singapore: tradition, modernity, and sophistication

The historic Tanjong Pagar district of Singapore has another great boutique hotel. The Six Senses Maxwell Singapore is housed in a colonial-style 19th-century heritage building and restored by celebrated French architect and designer Jacques Garcia.  

The new hotel is set in the vibrant Chinatown community. This part of Singapore has a lot of history. The hotel is located on the former site of a nutmeg plantation. Later, 14 three-story and four-story colonial-style buildings were constructed here. These houses were later joined together, creating a colonial-style 19th-century heritage building, in which architect Garcia created a refined mix of tradition, modernity, and sophistication.  

According to a report by TravelDailyNews, the hotel has an Art Deco frontage with exposed brickwork that is well-preserved. The four-storey restored building offers 138 guest rooms and suites. It also offers an outdoor rooftop lap pool, a gymnasium, two restaurants and three bars.
