Shortest lines in Oslo
Punctuality of airlines and convenient connections are pointless if you end up losing valuable business time at an airport security checkpoint. Oslo Airport boasts the shorted security wait times on the European continent. Not having to wait is a great airport USP.
With security lines on some European airports getting longer, waiting in Oslo for completion of the screening process on average takes just two minutes. Airport World reports that Airport operator Avinor is working on improving the performance of its security teams even further.
In the period June 15 to August 31, a total of 2.6 million passengers passed through security, an average of 35,000 passengers per day. The busiest day was Sunday, June 21, when 44,865 used the airport. 99.97% of passengers spent less than fifteen minutes queuing through security.
On August 26, Oslo Airport implemented new EU security legislation. Under the new rules, random hand searches of passengers are being replaced by checks using an Explosives Trace Detector (ETD). Accoring to Avinor, checks using a particle detector provide an even faster and better experience in security, while providing better security results.
