Self-Service Tesla rental in Hamburg
UFOdrive, a Luxembourg-based self-service car rental start-up, has opened a self-service Tesla rental location at Hamburg Airport. All handling and administration is taken care of via an app.
When you arrive at Hamburg Airport, there won’t be a desk or an employee – nor a queue – to welcome you. If you have a reservation, just open the UFOdrive app on your smartphone and you will be on your way with your Tesla Model S rental car, after only a few minutes.
Registration, booking the car, vehicle inspection, and unlocking the Tesla are all done through the app. UFOdrive runs a fleet of electric vehicles only. According to Autorentalnews.com, travellers can rent a Tesla Model S starting at 119 euros ($134) per day; a Nissan Leaf starts at 59 euros ($66) and Jaguar I-Pace starts at 129 euros ($146) per day.
UFOdrive now has three locations: on the airports of Hamburg, Luxembourg and Brussels. The company plans to open more locations in 2019 in Dublin, Vienna, Geneva, and Copenhagen.
