Passport forger caught with 173 fakes
With airport security checks being tightened all over the world, immigrations officers discover false passports on a daily base. One man in Thailand is the undisputed world record holder in the ‘fake’ department. Bangkok police arrested him with 173 false passports in his possession.
The Iranian forger was caught not only with his passports, but also with printing machines, special papers, sewing machines, plastic sheets, moulds and official seals. The master passport forger was known by his pseudonym, ‘The Doctor’.
The fake passports prepared by the forger were rated as ‘AAA’ grade, the Thai Public Broadcasting System reported. He used to sell his products to human trafficking gangs in the Middle East, that supplied them to Iranians, Syrians, Afghans and Iraqis.
