Panda hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan region

Don’t believe people that say that all hotel rooms look the same. The Hao Duo Panda Hotel in Emeishan (Sichuan, 200 km southwest of Chengdu) is definitely different. It is the world’s first panda themed hotel! The name of the hotel literally means ‘lots of pandas’.

The hotel rooms offer panda paintings on the walls, panda bedspreads, panda shaped wardrobes, and even beds with panda ears and feet! Toy pandas seem to be everywhere. Even the staff wear panda costumes. This may not look much like a business hotel, but to business travellers that have seen it all, a stay at the Hao Duo Panda may mean a lot.

The Sichuan region is known for its pandas and boasts the extensive Chengdu panda research base. The hotel is located some two hours drive from the center, in the Emei Mountain region. Room rates range from 300 ($48) to 500 yuan per night.
