Nigerian hotel wins five World Travel Awards

A Nigerian hotel had won an unprecedented number of five important hotel awards. The Transcorp Hilton Abuja stunned the African hotel community by claiming five World Travel Awards at a recent ceremony in Baie Lazare, Seychelles.

Voters of the World Travel Awards decided that Hilton Abuja deserved trophies for Africa’s Leading Business Hotel, Nigeria’s Leading Business Hotel, Nigeria’s Leading Hotel, Nigeria’s Leading MICE Hotel and Nigeria’s Leading Hotel Suite (the Presidential Suite).

Etienne Gailliez, general manager, Transcorp Hilton Abuja, was stunned by the appreciation of international business travellers. “To win the World Travel Awards in five categories is unprecedented in Nigeria and we are delighted that our efforts at delivering world class experiences consistently to our guests are recognised and appreciated.

The hotel has a good reputation for offering an outdoor pool and extensive recreational facilities, seven restaurants and bars, on-site casino and shopping arcade, 24 meeting rooms and Congress Hall for up to 1200 guests and a 24-hour business center and Executive Lounge.
