Marriott’s solution for the connected traveller: power!

What is the second-most wanted service for today’s business traveller on the road, after WiFi? The answer is simple: power. Access to an electric outlet! Marriott hotels have understood this and have acted upon it, by installing Kube Systems’ portable charging stations in the lobbies of 29 of its hotels.

It is a familiar site at many airports and hotels – travellers are anxiously looking for electric outlets to charge their smartphone, iPad or laptop. With Marriott, the search is over. You can now easily charge your device and you don’t need any cables to do it, as the chargers operate completely wireless.

The new Kube chargers are a practical solution to business travellers that spend time in work areas of the hotel lobby to get some work done.

The portable chargers’ built-in connecters can simultaneously power up to six devices, covering all Apple, Android and Windows Mobile Devices. Qi wireless charging technology allows compatible smartphones to charge simply by resting on the KS Portable™ Qi transmitter.

According to a Marriott Hotels survey, the average business traveller carries two to three mobile devices with them on the road. To cover the new charging needs, the hotel has also decided to increase the number of charging points in guestrooms.
