Manila is the cheapest travel destination

Travelling for business on a tight budget? A business trip to New York will be challenging, but in Manila you are likely to have money to spare, as these cities are the most and the least expensive cities in the world.  

Hoppa, a global leader in ground transportation services, researched 100 cities all over the world on criteria such as the cost of a hotel room for a night, the average price of both restaurant meals and fast food, the costs of beverages such as coffee, beer, wine and cocktails, as well as the price of taxi fares.  

The survey shows that in Manila, US$95.3 will get you food, accommodation and transport for a day. A day in New York costs US$480 on average. Other inexpensive travel destinations are Sofia in Bulgaria and Antalya in Turkey. TravelWeekly Asia reports that Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam) are next best for value for money. Indonesia’s cities of Denpasar (Bali) and Jakarta are 9th and 11th resp. on the ‘cheap city’ list.
