Los Angeles (LAX) airport to build ultra-big car rental centre
Los Angeles International Airport, also known as LAX, will build the biggest consolidated car rental center in the world. The 5.3 million sq feet (1.6 sq million sq metre) center will become home to 20 car rental companies in one location.
The building cost of the centre will be €1.75 billion. The project concerns a lot more than design, build, finance, operate and maintain the facility. Also, a 2.25-mile automated people mover will be built to eliminate congestion at LAX.
TravelPulse reports that the Consolidated Rent-A-Car Facility (ConRAC) will be developed in an area bordered by Aviation Boulevard to the west and is expected to open to the public in 2023.
