Jakarta airport now offers railway link
Jakarta’s international airport and the downtown area are soon to be connected by train. A new railway link will offer services between Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and the capital of Indonesia. The airport railway will have two routes, one connection to Kota Station in West Jakarta and the other to Manggarai Station in South Jakarta.
A one-way trip costs about 100,000 Rupiah, just under €7. The trains are expected to run at a frequency of 80 trips a day with headways of between 15 and 30 minutes.
Over time, more stops will be added beyond the Soekarno-Hatta and Sudirman Baru stations. TravelWeekly Asia reports that the brand new train carriages on the route will include features such as televisions, charging ports, information boards and toilets. Stations will include facilities such as waiting lounges, meeting rooms, prayer rooms, vending machines and ATMs.
