InterContinental first 5G smart hotel

The InterContinental Shenzhen (China) will soon be the world’s first 5G smart hotel. Shenzhen Telecom and Huawei signed an agreement to launch a full 5G network with integrated terminals and cloud applications in the hotel.

The hotel will have continuous indoor and outdoor 5G coverage. Guests will experience 5G hotel applications through 5G smartphones and customer-premises equipment terminals, including 5G welcome robots, 5G cloud computing terminals, 5G cloud games and 5G cloud virtual reality rowing machines. This will provide business travelers with a convenient and efficient working environment and most of all: ultra high-speed downloads and uploads.

HotelManagement reports that the 5G connections will also benefit service. Intelligent robots provide services including guest information, destination guidance, and goods delivery.
