Iconic LA airport Marriott revitalised
Arriving at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and spending the night before your next flight? Lucky you. The iconic Los Angeles Airport Marriott (first opened in 1973) just finished a $44 million renovation that could make it the most popular LAX airport hotel again – with a great new outdoor pool.
The famous hotel that hosted numerous dignitaries and celebrities over the years is now a stylish, ultramodern hub that is ready for the next decades of travel, with 984 refurbished rooms with soundproof windows for uninterrupted sleep.
It is more than just a great place to sleep between flights, as TravelPulse reports. One of the new attractions is the large M Club Lounge on the 18th floor, providing panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills, downtown Los Angeles, and the runways. It’s open 24-hours a day, serving food and drinks to Marriott Elite members.
If you are not a member, go to the new Great Room designed to serve as a grand gathering space, that offers several premium outlets, bar, full-service Starbucks and stylish alcoves for both work and play. Other F&B places in the hotel include Hangar 18 (TVs, craft beer, cocktails and bites), Social Market & Eatery (breakfast and dinner service) and JW’s Steakhouse for locally-sourced steaks and sustainable seafood.
