Hotel WiFi services “limited, slow and unreliable”
What is the most important quality of a business hotel? Business travellers rank a comfortable bed first on their list, with ‘WiFi’ in second place. And they are not happy about the quality of the WiFi services most hotels offer.
According to the Q3 iPass Mobile Workforce Report, based on the responses from 1,375 people worldwide who travel for business, found that the dependence on connectivity often results in disappointment. 81 Per cent of respondents had unsatisfactory experiences with hotel Wi-Fi in the past year, and 82 percent said that the service was limited, slow and unreliable. More than two-thirds (69 percent) said that accessing and registering for Wi-Fi access in hotels is difficult or cumbersome, while nearly three-quarters (74 percent) said that a bad Wi-Fi experience in a hotel would prevent a return visit. According to iPass business travellers increasingly rely both on Wi-Fi-enabled devices and access to bandwidth-hungry applications such as cloud apps and video conferencing tools.
