Hotel business in Berlin and Hamburg booming

Germany’s hotel business is booming, with Berlin in the lead. In the capital, 30 hotel construction project are currently being carried out. Runner-up is Hamburg, with 29 new hotels planned. 412 New hotels are in the pipeline all over Germany.

Berlin is today’s hot spot for hotel investments in Germany. According to tophotelprojects.com, the capital currently has 132,600 hotel beds in 786 accommodations. The number of overnight stays will increase from currently 27 million per year to about 40 million in 2020, according to general expectations.

The need of new, modern hotel beds will further grow. The average occupancy rate increased last year to 56.4 percent and therefore was higher than the last 25 years.
