Have a nice stay – in the bathroom
A practical, spacious and well-equipped bathroom is crucial to how much a business traveller feels at home in a hotel room. On eHotelier.com, Hospitality Consultant Larry Mogelonsky lists which bathroom items can make or break a traveller’s stay. Make: powerful rain showers. Break: not enough towels in the room.
Mogolonsky’s list of turnoffs in hotel bathrooms – based on common comments on TripAdvisor and other sources – is impressive. The list includes bathrooms that have not been cleaned properly, that offer poor lighting and that offer small mirrors.
One comment is probably recognised by many: “You want towels to be within arms’ length of the shower door, but you definitely do not want tissues or toiler paper rolls to be within splash distance when the shower or bathtub is in use.” Another smart comment is about bathtubs: who uses them anymore. Clever hotels invest in great showers, says the hotel business consultant.
