Dublin: The Mayson hotel in historic Docklands
Dublin proudly announces the opening of a new hotel in the historic Docklands. Two ‘protected’ buildings are home to the design-hotel The Mayson.
The two protected buildings in the city’s North Wall Quay were a traditional dockers pub and a 19th century timber warehouse. The designers of The Mayson restored, reinterpreted and modernised the buildings and combined them into a beautiful hotel in which the industrial character of the area is well-preserved.
According to BusinessTraveller, the 94-room hotel features the rooftop restaurant Ryleigh’s, The Mayson Bar serving cocktails and an all-day menu, a coffee hatch serving Dime coffee, and a boutique barber shop set in a traditional pub, The Bottle Boy. The hotel will boast a gym (Power), as well as a thermal suite and pool.
The Dublin Docklands is an interesting regenerated industrial area. The Mayson is close to the 13,000 capacity 3Arena.
