Flying may be a pleasurable experience, but getting on board can be a hassle. Nobody likes to wait in long security lines. In Montreal (Canada) a new system, much like Disney’s FastPass, cuts lines short.

Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International airport has introduced a new security checkpoint reservation system that gives travellers a designated time slot. Show up in time and you will enjoy speedy service in a special priority lane. The timed reservation for the security check may prevent a lot of pre-flight stress.

How does it work. Go online, check out the system on the airport website, enter your flight number and contact details. You will receive a text message that confirms a reserved time for a specific security checkpoint. The system promises you will pass security in no time, thanks to the SecurXpress priority line. It is a free service that looks very similar to Disney’s ride reservation system aimed at cutting down on waiting in line.

For now the SecurXpress system is only available for those traveling on Canadian domestic and select international flights. You can make a reservation for a maximum of five travellers at a time.
