Didi launches robo-taxi hailing
Taxi-app Didi Chuxing is moving on with its robo-taxi. The company is pushing forward with its driverless taxi and foresees that passengers will soon be able to hail self-driving vehicles from its app in a pilot robo-taxi service in Shanghai.
AutoRentalNews reports that Cheng Wei, founder and CEO of Didi Chuxing, made the announcement at Shanghai’s World Artificial Intelligence Conference. The participants of the conference could try the autonomous driving service on a closed track.
Didi Chuxing seems to have most of the paperwork in order, as the Shanghai government awarded Didi permits to test its AV fleet. Didi will deploy 30 different models of L4 autonomous vehicles to provide pilot robo-taxi services Shanghai.
