Cool outdoor drinks in hot season Bangkok

As Bangkok is entering the hot season – March to June – you may feel urged to schedule your informal business get-togethers in a cool air-conditioned environment. Fortunately Bangkok offers some brand new open-air hangouts that are cool in every sense. BlueBook offers two urban resort suggestions to drink, dine and talk business.

Urban Bangkok (Sukhumvit Soi 33) is a great urban retreat, set around a lovely swimming pool. It is a gastro tapas bar, urban lounge and boutique resort. In daytime, you can spend your spare hours between meetings on a sun bed and have a great cocktail or mocktail, mixed by New York alcohol guru Joseph Boroski. At night, Urban Bangkok turns into a club annex restaurant with a beach club atmosphere.

Our second suggestion is one of Bangkok’s great new rooftop sky bars - the Centara Watergate Pavillion's new Walk Bar. This must be one of the best bars in town with a view. Located on the 21st floor, Walk Bar serves signature drinks and champagne just before the sun goes down, and then stays open until well after midnight. The DJ station in the corner of the rooftop bar adds to the atmosphere. The bartenders/mixologists perform miracles with the usual spirits and liqueurs, chili, galanga, kaffir lime leave, lemongrass and Thai basil. On the 20th floor, Chili Hip is a fashionable designer restaurant.
