China will be the world’s largest aviation market

Air travel in China is growing at an exceptionally high pace. As so many people have discovered air travel to, from and within China, the country will soon overtake the U.S. as the world's largest aviation market. By 2036, the global air market will reach 7.8 billion passengers, nearly double the projected final tally for 2017.

China’s combined domestic and international traffic will reach its peak in or around 2022, according to a forecast by IATA, the International Air Transport Association. Business Travel News reports that the pace of growth has increased; last year, IATA forecasted that the takeover in the world air travel ranking was occur in 2024.

China is not the only fast grower in air travel. India will take third spot, after China and the U.S. and before the UK, that is currently the world's third-largest aviation market. India is growing strong and Indonesia is too.
