Book a hotel on Twitter

Twitter is testing a new feature that will make booking hotels via this social media app a lot easier. Some tweets from Twitter’s test partners will feature a ‘Buy’ button, letting users buy directly from the Tweet.

When you tap in the button, you will see additional product details. You will be prompted to enter shipping and payment information. Once entered and confirmed, the order information is sent to the merchant for delivery.

In this testing phase, no hotel or travel companies were included in Twitter’s pilot group of artists, brands and non profit organizations.

In a blog, Twitter’s Group Product Manager Tarun Jain, “this is an early step in our building functionality into Twitter to make shopping from mobile devices convenient and easy, hopefully even fun. Users will get access to offers and merchandise they can’t get anywhere else and can act on them right in the Twitter apps for Android and iOS; sellers will gain a new way to turn the direct relationship they build with their followers into sales.
