Artesian (London) – the best bar in the world
The Artesian bar within London’s Langham hotel is voted the best bar in the world. The bar ranks first on the World’s 50 Best Bars competition of Drinks International, a well-known hospitality industry publication.
The World’s 50 Best Bars is an independent poll, voted for anonymously by 334 industry professionals from 46 countries. Artesian finished first for the third consecutive year. Runner-up in the competition is New York's The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog.
London and New York dominate 2014’s list of top bars. Three London and three New York bars made it to the world’s top ten. Nightjar (London) finished in third place while New York’s Attaboy catapulted from 42nd to fourth place. Employees Only (New York) took fifth place.
The Artesian Bar is known for its exclusive and extremely creative presentations. Two examples: the Will of the Woods cocktail – a mixture of Glenlivet whisky, mushroom and honey – is served in a wooden bowl; the Camouflage cocktail, featuring Tanqueray gin, carrot, kombucha and sandalwood, arrives in a gleaming brass pineapple.
