The world’s largest airport fitness center
Toronto’s airport has just opened what must be the largest ‘in-terminal’ airport gym in the world. On Pearson International Airport, the new gym is based in a 10,000-square-ft (930 square metres) complex, fully dedicated to air travellers that want to stay in shape during their journey.
You will find yoga and meditation rooms in airports all over the world. There are about 200 airports with fitness centers (in and close to terminals), but the airport of Toronto has the largest facility in the world. The center, located near the international baggage claim, offers 15 treadmills, 20 elliptical machines, about a dozen stair-steppers and stationary bikes. The GoodLife Fitness center also boasts a full circuit of resistance training machines, a free weight area with a squat rack, benches and a rack of dumbbells weighing up to 100 pounds each. A large mat area is great for stretching out and performing body weight exercises, with stability and medicine balls of various weights and sizes.
