When a hotel spends the enormous amount of $100 million on a renovation, the result is deemed to be spectacular. In the completely refurbished and modernised Boston Park Plaza, the word ‘rejuvenation’ is in order.
The hotel originally opened its doors in 1927 as the Statler Hotel. In the $100 million extensive renovation, the 1,060 guestrooms were modernized, as well as the entrances and lobby. All furnishings and fixtures were replaced and a new library room was added to the hotel.
Business Traveller USA reports that the hotel’s MD, Jon Crelling, claims the hotel offers “top-notch hospitality, world-class dining and high-end fitness amenities”, combined with “the modern comforts and conveniences that today’s travelers have come to expect, all the while offering a uniquely Boston feel.”
For meetings and events the hotel now offers an additional 6,000 square feet of fully-renovated meeting space. Later in 2016, a Starbucks and a Leica Store will be added to the property.
