Before you board a plane… do this
Air travel, the clever way, starts with a list of 10 actions you should consider before you go to the airport. One of them is checking your carry-on bag, as many airlines have adopted new regulations lately.
T+L has compiled a list of this and other really clever actions you should take before flying. Like getting an insurance that will reimburse $50 for a delay of more than two hours, $250 if you miss a connection because of a delay, and $500 if your bag goes missing for more than 12 hours. One example of such an insurance is Berkshire Hathaway’s AirCare insurance.
Another great tip if you want the best economy seat on the plane (when Busines Class is outside your budget) is downloading ExpertFlyer. This app alerts you when your seat of choice becomes available, so you can log on and grab it. Some more good advice: get GateGuru (free; Android, iOS). This app will help you navigate terminals at some 200 airports around the world and point you wherever you need to go. GateGuru also lists airport amenities and restaurant reviews.
