2018 Best Hotels rankings: 4 out of 5 best European hotels are in Paris

U.S. News & World Report has announced the 2018 Best Hotels, evaluating more than 24,000 hotels across the USA, Europe, Canada, Mexico and Bermuda. The best hotel of the USA is Hawaii’s Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Four out of five of Europe’s best hotels are located in Paris. Number one in Europe: the Ritz Paris.

eHotelier reports that U.S. News scored luxury hotels (4-star and higher) using a methodology that combines each hotel’s industry awards with expert and guest reviews. In the US, The Peninsula Chicago ranks number 2 on the best hotels list; number 3 is The Langham, Chicago.

Other than the hotel ranking, the methodology generates popular and often-consulted lists like Best Vacations, Best Cruise Lines and Best Travel Rewards Programs.

For the first time, the publication also made an effort to rank Europe’s best hotels. This is the ranking:

1. Ritz Paris
2. La Réserve Paris – Hotel and Spa
3. Hotel Eden Paris
4. Hôtel Plaza Athénée Paris
5. J.K. Place Roma
