Montreal consortium to supply SAF to Air France-KLM

From 2030 onwards, a Montreal-based consortium will supply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to the Air France-KLM Group. The deal between Air France-KLM and the SAF+ consortium in Montreal was signed recently.

According to a report by the Financial Post, the SAF+ Consortium is made up of a group of Quebec companies that is focused on producing sustainable aviation fuel. The fuel is composed of hydrogen made from water using renewable energy, plus carbon captured from industrial emissions.

Utilizing SAF to power aircraft is an important way to decarbonizing aviation and to help reduce the industry’s greenhouse gas emissions.
