Airbus has launched its new long range A321LR aircraft. The maiden flight of the manufacturer’s new product, performed from Hamburg airport, was successful. A series of 100 hours of test flights will follow before the aircraft can enter into service in autumn 2018.

The new long range Airbus A321 can carry up to 240 passengers. The plane has only one aisle and has a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles, which is more than the range of a regular A321. Thanks to the third Additional Centre Fuel Tank (ACT), this aircraft is able to operate routes such as New York-Paris.

Earlier versions of the A320 (‘the A320 neo family of aircraft’) have proven to be very popular, with 1,900 sold aircraft.
