China’s green sector is growing fast. The sector is attracting investors, as the country tries to make its economy grow, while protecting the environment.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, investment in the environmental sector surged 42 percent year on year in the first 11 months of 2018. Shanghai Daily reports that there are several ‘green areas’ that attract investment, such as the production of equipment related to environmental protection and core components of new energy vehicles. There is also a lot of interest from investors in energy enterprises, specifically in the exploitation of China’s abundant geothermal resources and clean and sustainable energy.
The recycling industry is booming as well. A growing number of enterprises invest in transforming waste (steel and plastics) into renewable resources.
